BASIC REQUIREMENTS This position requires that you have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as noted below. This experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. (1) ATTENTION TO DETAIL – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; AND (2) CUSTOMER SERVICE – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; AND (3) ORAL COMMUNICATION – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; AND (4) PROBLEM SOLVING – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND MINIMUM/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Specialized Experience: In addition, you must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service, obtained in either the private or public sector which includes demonstrated experience, knowledge, and proficiency in technology support, customer relations, systems administration, project management, personnel processing (end-user computing environment), and managing agency IT equipment process for employee separations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 10/09/2024.
This position is with the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of the Chief Information Officer in Washington D.C. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology Specialist for the Customer Relations Branch.
