Supervisory Biologist

Only experience and education obtained by 10/17/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualification. Basic Requirement: A degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR A combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualification [GS-13] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade-level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience may include: 1) performing a supervisory role and or mentoring role for an interdisciplinary team; 2) serve as a technical expert on the Endangered Species Act, specifically Section 7 and other environmental laws and regulations; 3) dealing with complex and controversial natural resources management issues and negotiating with diverse stakeholders to resolve conflicts; 4) negotiating or implementing water management agreements consistent with state and federal laws; 5) experience with forestry management principles. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a Supervisory Biologist, GS- 0401-13 working in Bend, Oregon, for the R1-Oregon Fish and Wildlife Office.
