Budget Analyst

National Park Service - Department of the Interior

In order to be qualified for this position, you must possess one of the following: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service developing budget submissions with program managers; monitoring the status of funds, including reconciling financial transactions, for an organization; preparing a variety of financial reports for management; and providing guidance to others on financial/budgetary regulatory or statutory requirements, policies, and procedures – OR – B. A Ph.D. or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree, in business, finance, accounting, or another closely related field which provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; or have an LL.M. – OR – C. A combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate education as described in B that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. (Please note: only graduate education in excess of the first two years – normally 36 semester hours – may be used in this calculation.) For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either “full-time” (or “40 hours a week”) or “part-time” with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
As a Budget Analyst, you will guide six program areas at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the development and execution of annual and long-term budgets. Please note: This announcement is open until 11:59 pm ET on 10/09/2024 or the day when the 25th application is received, whichever comes first.
