Must possess an adequate level of physical fitness to use and demonstrate all exercises and be able to lead all classes. Excellent written and verbal communication and interview skills are required to assess patron needs and assist with the promotion of marketing of the program. Considerable tact and diplomacy as well as fitness are required when interacting with participants. Basic knowledge of marketing/publicity materials and the use of basic computer hardware and software is preferred.
This position is located in the Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Fleet Readiness Department in the Fitness/Sports and Deployed Support Department at MWR NWS Huntington Hall in Newport News, VA or CHEATHAM ANNEX in Williamsburg, VA. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Group Exercise Instructor demonstrating and leading safe and effective group exercise classes, applying the fundamental principles of exercise science, under the supervision of the assigned manager.
