Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1016-13. For this position, Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, designing educational content for a museum or cultural institution. Program Management – Ability to manage all aspects of a program, including design, research, administration, and evaluation. Data Collection – Skill in collecting and analyzing data to advise on future growth. Education – Knowledge of current methods, approaches, trends, and concepts linked to education and learning across a wide spectrum of learners. Supervision – Ability to supervise others and oversee their work products. Collaboration – Skill in collaborating and with a variety of museum staff and educators. “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The position is in the Department of Gallery and Studio Learning (PLE-GL), in the Division of Learning and Engagement, and on the staff of the Exhibitions, Programs and Audience Engagement Office.
