To qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level you must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes administering and maintaining budgets; knowledge of budgets and purchasing requests; entering and tracking information; performing clerical duties in support of finance or accounting operations; and preparing correspondence. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Clerical Computer Skills Control of Funds Cost Accounting Plan and organize work IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but occasionally requires the carrying of light objects such as files, books, and papers. Work involves bending, stooping, standing, walking, carrying less than 15 pounds and using a computer terminal. Work is performed in an adequately climate-controlled office setting. This position is located in the Nutrition and Food Services (N&FS) within the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Administration Salisbury – W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center. The incumbent perform a wide range of clerical and technician work supporting budget analysis and administration with responsibility for purchasing food, equipment, supplies, and services; providing cost accounting and budgetary statistics; and preparing reports for Nutrition and Food Services.
