GENERAL EXPERIENCE is the experience or training that demonstrates knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is at least 18 months experience or training that provided knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applicable to powered support equipment and systems; experiences that provided knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships; experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures’ repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
