Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Military Technical Competence Written Communication Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves reviewing regulatory guidance to recommend solutions on policy compliance; utilizing automated systems to update human resources personnel records; compiling documents to maintain detailed personnel records for the counseling of participants and assisting with processing documents to monitor financial transactions for program obligations OR Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education Substitution for GS-08: Successfully completed one and a half years (i.e., 27 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-08: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the requirement is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
About the Position: This position is Term NTE 2 Years and may be made permanent. This position is with 2nd Brigade located at Pennsylvania State University at State College, Pennsylvania. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE (2 year) by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. OCONUS employees are not eligible for a CONUS detail. This position is also being announced under DABR244513136381.
