Specialized Experience To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal Service or private/public sector equivalent experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Experience in qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluation methods and techniques to identify, analyze, evaluate, and advise on Department-level counterterrorism problems, programs, and initiatives. Experience of comprehensive knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies and precedents including knowledge of DHS programs, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating goal accomplishments. Comprehension of analytic methods and techniques to synthesize information related to the DHS counterterrorism mission received from multiple sources. Evaluate information critical to the Secretary’s priorities to ensure the Department’s resources are supportive of the Secretary’s decision-making requirements. Insight of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and project team performance. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to perform in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment while overseeing multiple processes and making critical decisions. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters (DHS-HQ), Immediate Office of the Secretary (IOS), Counterterrorism Coordinators Office (CTCO). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Project Manager for the Counterterrorism Coordinator (SES) and Deputy Counterterrorism Coordinator (SES). As such the work involves functions, tasks, and responsibilities associated as required for the operational mission of DHS.
