To qualify for the Supervisory Technical Writer-Editor GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: writing and editing papers that translate research and communicate the institute’s programs and activities, particularly those involving major plans, policies, and research advances directed toward improving the health and well-being among various populations; providing a full range of editorial support to management and professional staff on materials intended for publication or presentation; managing the research, development and composition of a wide variety of written initiatives concerning complex scientific topics; planning and directing information dissemination approaches; and providing advice on public affairs and communications matters to high-ranking personnel.
