Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Industrial Equipment Mechanic Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common repair and installation of commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning units. Utilize electrical and plumbing methods and techniques to perform maintenance and troubleshoot utility systems equipment and machinery. Observe tasks in progress of journey level employees and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above applicants must possess a valid Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification. (NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your license or certification with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.) Physical Efforts: The employee uses light to medium physical effort in performing work. The work requires some standing, stooping, walking and lifting of items weighing over 40 pounds. Working Conditions: A majority of the work is performed indoors and in cramped positions. However, some of the work may be performed outside. The incumbent is exposed to live electrical wires and chemicals when cleaning filters.
