Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement 10/21/2024 including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in grade: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-12 grade level for consideration for the GS-13 grade level). You must include an SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one) that supports meeting this requirement with your application package Specialized Experience for the GS-13 level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrates competence in agricultural loans. Experience reviewing and passing upon applications for a wide and complex variety of agricultural operations or enterprises (i.e., single owner, partnerships, and corporations, etc.); servicing an agricultural loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association. In addition, experience must demonstrate broad and seasoned judgement in providing financial management guidance to agricultural borrowers; ascertaining and analyzing the many and often obscure facts regarding the borrowers financial capacity, and evaluating the general economic and financial conditions that affect the organization/governments risk in granting, guaranteeing, or insuring the loan. In addition, experience that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of farm financing and credit; farm operations, land use and value; production of various crops and livestock, and prices and markets in the farming area where loans are made and serviced. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is located in the Farm Service Agency, Deputy Administrator for Farm Loan Programs, Program Operations and Appraisal Division, Program Operations Branch. This is a Remote Position. Final Salary will be determined based on the Duty Location you are selected for.
