Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing comprehensive interior design packages, reviewing plans for constructability and identifying changes if necessary; 2) creating plans, section details and schedules; 3) ensuring technical quotes submitted by furniture manufacturers are in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations during construction; 4) monitoring and coordinating with project managers and other applicable parties involved in the completion of architectural and interior design construction phases of projects; and 5) preparing equipment procurement packages to include detailed furnishing and equipment layouts, schedules, power and communication requirements, cost estimates, and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of wprk performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Architecture Design Financial Management Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
About the Position: Serves as an interior Designer within the Engineering Directorate with the responsibility for the planning, design, and review of new and/or conversion, extension, or modernization of existing buildings or facilities.
