IT Specialist

In addition to the basic education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as utilizing diagnostic data analytics methods to extract and analyze data from large, disparate, and unstructured datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and data relationships; and design, deploy, and maintain data visualization solutions using business intelligence platforms. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of data analysis techniques for gathering, sorting, and structuring datasets. Knowledge of data visualization tools, technologies, and practices. Knowledge of information security policies, principles, and practices. Skill in oral communication. Skill in written communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is in Office of Mission Support, Office of Site Management and Operations, Information Resources Management Division.
