To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education-A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure-For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-0610-12 – 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: Implementing a Medical/Clinical Quality Improvement Program to meet Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Accreditation Standards. Developing processes to improve the delivery of patient care, both collaboratively and independently. Determine short-or-long term goals and strategies to develop continuous quality improvement methodologies. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located at the Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake, MN, and also services the Ponemah satellite clinic. The primary purpose of this position is to provide key oversight and leadership of hospital accreditation readiness activities, manage the quality assurance and performance improvement program, and ensure the highest level of quality care at the Red Lake Service Unit.
