Climate Change Coordinator

Basic Requirement 0401 Series: Education: Successful completion a course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline related to this position. NOTE: Transcripts required. OR Combination: Possess an appropriate combination of education and experience that included course work equivalent to a major (i.e. 24 semester hours or equivalent) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a discipline related to this position; PLUS appropriate experience or additional course work. The quality of the combination must demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the work of the position and is comparable to that normally acquired through the completion of a full four-year course of study with a major as described above. AND Minimum Qualification [GS-0401-14] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized Experience may include: 1) Supports in establishing leadership, direction and policy to bring together senior managers and scientists to develop collaborative science ventures; 2) Identify and solve challenging and complex issues related to natural resource management/conservation that affect a diverse group of partners; 3) establish procedures and policies to address climate change or natural resource issues; 4) represent an organization and display a broad perspective on multiple competing priorities with respect to complex natural resource issues within the larger scientific community; 5) serve on panels and task forces to solve complex natural resource issues; 6) review programmatic natural resource strategic or operational plans regarding proposed decisions and policies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
