You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. To meet the screen-out element, applicants must have: Experience working with complex heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. I perform the duties of this position on my own with normal or limited supervision. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified. Your application will be evaluated in the following areas: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision, (screen-out), Knowledge of Equipment, Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc., Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic), Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading), Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment. In order to handle refrigerants, maintain, and/or repair AC systems, employee must be certified under an EPA 608 Universal Certification. Applicants who do not currently possess the certification will be required to obtain it within one year of appointment to the position.
This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate – Denver – Plant Engineering Division. The position involves the installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of a variety of complex integrated heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, i.e., water coolers, cooling towers, refrigerators, steam systems and ventilating equipment, all critical to the continued operation of production and administrative functions.
