To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous two years*, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; For more information on education requirements go to Treasury’s Pathways Program. *Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the two-year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining two-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran’s eligibility period may not extend beyond six years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study. Education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. In order to qualify for the Federal Register Liaison position at the GS-9 level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing of this announcement: A. Education- In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a related field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Public Administration; or an LL.B. or J.D. OR B. Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in the research, review and preparation of documents for a legal or legislative website or publication; experience providing procedural advice on publication and proofreading documents for spelling, syntax and format of publication requirements. This level of work typically involves following established methods and procedures or detailed instructions, using some judgment in applying analytical techniques, solving minor problems and making routine decisions. OR C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
