Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements AND Minimum Qualification requirements as listed below. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: A. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE, YOU MUST ALSO MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties: Applying futures and strategic foresight methods to evaluate future technologies and policies; Reviewing, analyzing, and assessing data obtained from various sources to evaluate systemic conditions that may impact the strategic operating environment for critical infrastructure systems; Contributing to the development of risk mitigation strategies for national-level risks to critical infrastructure systems; Analyzing future risks and planning options as part of broader efforts to inform decision-makers; AND Supporting teams to create and/or update knowledge transfer products to support critical infrastructure stakeholders. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level, if you have: EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties: Applying futures and strategic foresight methods to evaluate future technologies and policies; Reviewing, analyzing, and assessing data obtained from various sources to evaluate systemic conditions that may impact the strategic operating environment for critical infrastructure systems; Developing risk mitigation strategies for national-level risks to critical infrastructure systems; Developing materials to convey future risks and planning options to decision-makers; AND Leading teams to create and/or update knowledge transfer products to support critical infrastructure stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
