OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package, or you will be rated ineligible. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: Design and conduct analytical studies to support Defense Acquisition programs; Perform data mining large raw data sets to create usable information to support analytical studies; Utilize statistical software tools such as MS Excel with statistics add-ons, matrix evaluator, or other statistical software to support analytical studies; and Communicate (written/oral) technical data to higher senior officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or grade level position in the federal service (DB 02/GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone – no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for candidates with Bachelor Degrees to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position will serve as an Operations Research Analyst with the Fires Capabilities Development Integration Directorate (CDID), US Army Futures Command located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project.
