PROGRAM ANALYST

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and implementing a wide variety of studies, analyses, evaluations and assessments that relate to the actual and potential impacts that the new initiatives/projects will have on Programs; 2) Determining methods of evaluating program accomplishments; 3) Experience assessing and understanding the substantive nature and interrelationships among operating policies and programs to improve effectiveness; 4) Drafts reports from data analytics to identify trends and provide recommendations to leadership. Applicants applying for the GS-13 must meet the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-12 grade level. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and implementing a wide variety of studies, analyses, evaluations and assessments that relate to the actual and potential impacts that the new initiatives/projects will have on Programs; 2) Determining methods of evaluating program accomplishments; 3) Experience assessing and understanding the substantive nature and interrelationships among operating policies and programs to improve effectiveness; 4) Creating reports from data analytics to identify trends and provide recommendations to leadership; 5) Ensure estimates, forecasts, submissions and revisions conform to requirements guidelines and financial objectives. Accurately assess operating performance, goals, and resource utilization to identify program deficiencies. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operations Division (OC), BODY WORN CAMERA SECTION (OMC) in Arlington, VA. This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as a Program Analyst to plan, research, analyze and evaluate a range of management/program functions addressing diverse and complex duties related to a wide variety of administrative management issues.
