Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Proficiency Required: A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. GS-06 Specialized Experience for current or former Federal employees serving on a career or career conditional appointment: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Operating computer systems to accomplish assigned duties; 2) Communicating with callers to determine nature of calls; and 3) Utilizing communication equipment to apply appropriate responses to calls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Interpersonal Skills Manages and Organizes Information Technical Competence

About the Position: Serve as a Public Safety Telecommunicator for dispatching Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and Law Enforcement (LE) responders, monitoring alarms, and activating Mass Notification Systems in Army Garrison Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) / 911 Centers.
