TO QUALIFY FOR THE GS -12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identify equipment malfunctions and installation deficiencies. 2) Troubleshoots electrical / control systems, consults with equipment manufacturer (OEM) or cognizant design agency (CDA) and obtains recommendations to properly rectify equipment function. 3) Assist Crane Engineer team with equipment research. Have the ability to apply the results of scientific and engineering research to discover new products, procedures or services to lead to the use of new products, procedures or services. 4) Keep engineering records of all In-Service, New Crane Construction and Modernization projects. 5) Create simple electrical schematics using computer-aided design programs. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviews electrical drawings and specifications for contractibility, cost estimates and choice of materials; 2) Conduct construction inspections, investigations, or surveys of electrical engineering systems such as: electrical transformers, electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, interior wiring for lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control systems, fire or security alarm systems, and grounding systems.; 3) Act as point of contact between the Contracts Office and the customer during construction contract solicitation and performance, resolving electrical engineering related issues as they arise; 4) Plan and design new construction, renovation and improvement projects on real property facilities that integrate electrical and other engineering disciplines (i.e. civil, mechanical, and architectural).
