MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university in one of the following areas: health promotions. health education. public health. Exercise Physiology. Exercise Science, Fitness Management, or a related field AND four years of experience in fitness or a health field with health education & prevention as a primary focus. A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is required. Experience in planning, managing, and administering a comprehensive year-round health and fitness program, and the facilities used in conducting the activities at a military installation serving a population of active duty, reservists, retired military personnel, their family members, civilians, and other authorized customers. Skill to plan, develop, organize, manage, and supervise diverse and comprehensive health and physical fitness programs, that include group exercise classes, self-directed fitness programs, incentive programs, special events, and instructional programs. Competency in public speaking, professional writing for public awareness, computer literacy and metrics reporting and/or program evaluation. Physical dexterity, and ability to conduct exercise classes, stand for long periods of time, and lift and carry objects up to 451bs independently and objects over 451hs with assistance. A valid driver’s license is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Tactical Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) Sports Performance Coach Level I – USA Weightlifting (USA W) Certified Inclusive Fitness Specialist (ACSM) Lifestyle and Weight Management (ACE) Possess Health Promotion Director certificate from and accredited institution Certifications in health promotion and fitness. basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator, and First Aid that are kept current throughout employment.
