Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Can perform the common range of work relative to the diagnosing, repair, adjusting and testing of an air conditioning/ heating unit containing mechanical and electronic components. Work under the close supervision of a work leader or journey- level employee who reviews work for completion. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT Work requires frequent bending, standing and stooping in tiring positions, although there is occasional work at benches. Required to lift, push or pull a variety of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Some assignments require climbing. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed indoors and occasionally outside. Subject to noise, cuts, bruises and protective clothing or equipment. TDY site locations may involve cramped working areas, poor lighting, poor ventilation, inclement weather, etc.
