MECHANICAL ENGINEER

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Modifying standard practices and adapting techniques to solve a variety of problems of engineering programs in relation to facilities engineering, public works management, and construction commissioning; 2) Providing a full range of engineering duties to accurately determine the conditions of shore facilities and the requirements for maintenance, repair, alteration, construction, or replacement; 3) Planning, budgeting, and monitoring large scale construction projects to ensure compliance with objectives, standards, and requirements; 4) Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and engineering drawings to prepare reports utilizing software (i.e. AutoCAD, MAXIMO, Specs Intact, Cost Works, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint); 5) Preparing architectural and engineering (A-E) statements of work, to include project time schedules, cost estimates, drawings and specification while ensuring compliance with project objectives; and 6) Serving as technical consultant concerning facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance to resolve controversial issues based on sound economic analysis while applying excellent verbal and written communication skills.
