SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST (Title 32)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided knowledge of support services. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures used in planning, organizing work, and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for support service functions required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved. Experience planning and directing a variety of clerical operations. Experience using methods and procedural steps, and working under general instructions to meet the objectives of support services programs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization, including administrative practice and procedures common to organizations, such as those pertaining to channels of communication, delegation of authority, routing of correspondence, filing systems, and storage of files and records. Ability to establish rapport and confidence and assess specific problems or situations. Ability to determine effectiveness of support service functions. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training. MILITARY GRADE (Prior to Application): Enlisted: E-5 through E-6 UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: Any unit within the state SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) is a mandatory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or termination of full-time employment unless extenuating circumstances preclude course attendance.
THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management (DCSIM), Hartford, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
