Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) duties. I can receive and unload incoming shipments; and perform warehouse duties. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Effort: Performs work that requires stooping, standing, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Frequently lifts and carries supplies and materials that weigh up to 40 pounds; may on occasion lift heavier items. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside the warehouse and outside. The areas may be cold, drafty, damp or hot. The work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. There is the possibility of injury from falling of dropped stock and exposure to cuts, scrapes and bruises; falls from ladders; or injury from mechanical conveyor or other equipment.
