Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience writing and editing assignments using correct grammar, syntax, punctuation, word usage, and using desktop publishing and/or electronic publishing to produce publications in a variety of formats. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and Media Creative Thinking Technology Application Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). NOTE: All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
About the Position: Incumbent serves as team leader and editor for a group of writers for Department of the Army level Civilian Professional Journal. As such, is responsible for the investigation, research, writing, and editing of all the material needed to publish a DA journal as well as coordinate with Sr. military and civilian leaders.
