Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Locksmith (Direct Hiring Authority) ~ without more than normal supervision to include fabricating replacement parts when repairing locking devices and inspecting locking devices to determine if the devices have been tampered with in the result of an investigation. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort-Incumbent frequently stands, stoops, bends, kneels, and works in awkward positions while performing repairs. May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier items may be lifted or moved with assistance. Working Conditions-Work is done both inside offices and buildings that are well lighted, hearted and ventilated and outside in bad weather or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Incumbent is sometimes required to work in noisy and low and high hazard environmental areas. Incumbent may be exposed to explosive, chemical, and radiological hazards. Wears protective clothing and equipment as required.
