Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assembling information as requested by attorneys; researching a variety of legal sources to verify information; and using automated software to produce legal related reports, documents, correspondence and/or related materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Skills Customer Service Legal, Government and Jurisprudence Written Communication
About the Position: This position is located within the Legal Services Department at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition to regular salary (base + locality), positions are eligible for a nonforeign area Cost of Living Allowance (COLA), which is exempt from federal income tax.
