Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience operating various types of audiometric testing equipment (i.e.; DOEHRS-HC automated test system and manual test systems, e.g., the GSI-61 or Audiostar audiometer with masking), otoscopy, earplug fittings, patient education, etc.; AND performing the full range of audiometric surveillance requirements with appropriately documented evaluations transferred/saved to correct readiness data repositories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Certification from the Council on Accreditation for Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) is highly desired but not required.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Health Technician (Audiology) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Health Technician (Audiology) in the Department of Family Medicine, for the Army Hearing Program at Evans Army Community Hospital.
