Specialized experience: is defined as performing duties which include: 1) Utilizing knowledge of acquisition and management processes to develop acquisition strategies utilizing pathways of the adaptive acquisition framework (Middle Tier of Acquisition, Major Capability Acquisition and Software Acquisition Pathway); 2) Planning and/or evaluating major programs, system development efforts, acquisition, and/or research and development related initiatives; 3) Overseeing the integration of various functional areas to include programming, scheduling, financial management, engineering, and logistics planning; and, 4) Performing acquisition management activities on software-intensive programs This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
