Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision. Maneuver vehicles within close tolerances when driving and backing over uneven ground and in narrow or congested areas, between buildings and other vehicles; drive over long distances which usually involve interstate driving and night driving and driving in inclement weather conditions; assists with loading and unloading materials and/or passengers assuring the vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Handle Weights and Loads Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability to perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties w/o more than normal supervision Reading Comprehension Ability to perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties w/o more than normal supervision Works outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (2) years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
