To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0102-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: assisting in articulating goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping monitor progress, assisting in treatment, modeling effective coping techniques. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0102-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: providing non-professional client services, assistance and support to professionals in residential treatment environment. This work also provided experience in leadership such as interacting with other staff to influence, motivate, and challenge them. OR; Must have successfully completed 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the position. OR; Have a combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. The total percentage equals at least 100 percent to qualify for this GS-07 grade level. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a Certification. To meet this requirement you must have on of the following: Credentialed Peer/Recovery Support Specialist via AHCCCS – recognized Peer Support Employment Training Programs. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
The position is located in the Social Services Department of Whiteriver Service Unit, Whiteriver, AZ. The Peer Support Technician position will be under Social Work Service on a multidisciplinary team supporting engagement in Mental Health Services. Peer Technicians perform a variety of therapeutic and supportive tasks that assist patients in articulating their goals of recovery, learning and practicing new skills and modeling effective coping techniques.
