Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order). Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. Dexterity and Safety Physical Effort: Moderate physical effort is required continuously in performance of manual cleaning tasks. Walking, standing long periods, requires bending, lifting, pushing, and climbing. There are occasional short periods of more physical effort when moving furniture and lifting of items over 50 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is done inside with adequate lighting, ventilation and occasionally outside when washing of windows, and outdoor clinics. Will be exposed to some mechanical hazards, some moving objects, crowded rooms/areas, and wet slippery floor surfaces, and icy streets. Will be subject to chapped hands from working with detergents and water. Subject to danger from cuts, bruises, and minor shocks from working with power machines. Subject to exposure to diseases being treated in the hospital, as well as blood and other bodily fluids. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is for a Full Time, Permanent employee at the Fort Duchesne service unit located in Fort Duchesne, Utah. The Custodial Worker is responsible for the clinic which include four areas. The four areas are the U&O Health Center, the Office of Environmental Health Office, the wellness center, and nine government quarters (housing).
