Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible accounting experience with the interrelationship of accounts and the effects of debit and credit transactions on the overall system of general ledgers and experience with the relationship between the general ledgers and subsidiary accounts and subdivision accounts. Experience with analyzing complex cash reconciliation/banking relationships involving cash deposits, check and electronic funds disbursements and inter/intra bank funds transfers. Experience with performing cash/bank reconciliation and cash forecasting. Extensive experience with managing entire accounting cycle to include reconciliation of subsidiary accounts and publishing statements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Proficient in Oracle system reports (Financial Analysis/General Ledger Detail Report) and tools in performing cash reconciliation process. Knowledge of the Deposit Validation Report, Cash Management Investment Program (CMIP) Verification Report and Chase Paymentech Online Reports. Thorough knowledge of NAF accounting practices and procedures. Extensive knowledge of the Air Force Services Structure is desired. Knowledge of training methods, preparation of training/briefing materials and development of employee training plans. Knowledge and work experience with Air Force Services Financial Management System (AFSMS). Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a degree in a related field such as business administration or finance or experience in public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 Semester hours in accounting or a combination of education and at least 2 years of accounting experience is preferred. This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center in Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
