Military Grades: 2nd LT through Maj GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training that has required you to obtain information on type of mission, weather and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided a knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems. Experience that shows your ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions. Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel AND you must have completed the necessary hours required for your current airframe. Requires mastery of higher level tactical and technical skills in a rapidly changing environment. Must master required skills and develop new training programs and procedures with minimum guidance or supervision. Routinely make decisions and recommendations that may significantly change a MAJCOM’s program of record. Mastery of planning, briefing, and execution of realistic ground and special operations tactical mission scenarios, applicable to various phases of student training, that represent realistic ground presentations in various areas of responsibilities. Directly responsible for its performance and safety while also tasking, assigning, and simulating other air assets in the restricted operating zone. Requires knowledge of air navigation and mission system employment methods appropriate to the flight training mission, and skills to apply this knowledge in planning and performing the mission’s navigation. Must have knowledge of aircraft systems and equipment related to the mission functions and skills to operate systems, cross-check information, and translate data into useful and reliable information for the pilots or assigned users. Knowledge of basic aerodynamics and the effect of various forces and conditions on flight operations, and skills in considering these factors in planning missions and during flights. Knowledge of instructional methods along with knowledge of the assigned missions’ navigational and tactical requirements. Knowledge of instrument flight procedures, air traffic procedures, airway routes and structures, oceanic routes; and, skilled in the use of navigational aids which are applied to plan flight routes and monitor the progress of flights. Maintains knowledge of the weather effects and atmospheric conditions on flights and mission operations. Knowledge of techniques and data sources for fuel planning, determining fuel requirements, monitoring flight consumptions, and analyzing performance. Knowledge and skill on how to deliver ground and airborne training instructions to guardsmen and active duty.
