Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to lead or supervise of a(n) GENERAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER~ without more than normal supervision. Performing common General Equipment Mechanic Leader tasks including working in the sheet metal painting, and equipment cleaning, electrician, and maintenance trades; and assisting lower graded workers with the most difficult tasks. Working under normal supervision of a work leader of journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Lead or Supervise Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments PHYSICAL EFFORT-Lifts objects from moderate to heavy weights. Climbs ladders, scaffolds, and may work from platforms or high reach equipment. May work in cramped and awkward positions and have to reach, bend, and lift while using tools, parts and/or equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS-Works inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions. Subject to exposure to dust and dirt, grease, fumes, noise, etc. May also be subject to cuts, burns, bruises, electrical shocks, etc. Safety equipment is provided to minimize hazards.
