Supervisory Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Director)

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of Specialized Experience Experience in supervisory clinical psychologist duties including planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating a comprehensive clinical psychology program for a department or clinic, clinical psychological treatment of clients and patients, experience in a mental health setting clinic or hospital while providing psychological evaluations, assessments and follow ups. Performing referral, intake, diagnostic, treatment, and crisis intervention and consultation service for mental health patients. Selective Placement Factor Ability to independently provide direct services to patients as evidenced by a current, valid, active, unrestricted license, as a Clinical Psychologist in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. This position is located at the Fort Thompson Indian Health Center, Fort Thompson, SD. The position will serve as the Director of the Behavioral Health Department, which provides comprehensive behavioral/mental health services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and elderly patients and comprehensive outpatient alcohol/drug treatment services.
