SAFETY DATA SPECIALIST

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate: 1) Demonstrating skills in other job-relevant information systems and software applications, such as spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet. 2) Applying knowledge of occupational safety and mishap reporting to understand the data submitted to the RMI database. 3) Articulating information on all database inconsistencies and determine the level of importance required and methods to recommend areas of concern to subject matter experts or detect anomalies within the system. 4) Utilizing knowledge, capabilities, and practices associated with the Department of Defense, Federal OSHA, and applicable international health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures used to develop and implement mishap and environmental health prevention practices and measures in shore-based workplaces. 5) Applying knowledge of naval aircraft, surface ships, submarines, and motor vehicles, as well as shore-based equipment to correctly recognize descriptions and code information.
