MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: OPM Qualification Standards – Compliance Inspection and Support, GS-1802 GS-08 Grade Level: One (1) year of specialized experience related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or private sector performing ALL of the following: processing forms, paperwork, and other documentation in accordance with regulations/policy; evaluating evidence and/or documentation for issues or discrepancies and corrects or recommends solutions; tracking, cataloguing and storing a variety of materials; and ensuring that practices are in compliance with existing policies and procedures. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472).
This position is located with the Office of the Secretary of Interior, OJS, Missing and Murdered in Phoenix, AZ. Evidence Technicians will support the mission and the Office of Justice Services (OJS) by providing technical support to Criminal Investigators in a task force environment focusing on cold cases and ensuring compliance with federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
