WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I – All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E1/PV1 – E6/SSG) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II – All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E1/PV1 – E6/SSG) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia Army National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E1/PV1 – E6/SSG) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience or training performing the handling, storage, examining, transporting, and identifying of ammunition and explosives to detect defects, serviceability, deterioration, and compliance with all ammunition and explosives regulations, acceptable standards, specifications, or contractual requirements, as well as policy and procedures. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WG 08 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WG grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience performing Ammunition Inspections pertaining to the receipt, classification, storage, issue and shipment of ammunition items. Experience receiving shipments of all types of ammunition and verify DA form 1348 against Depot surveillance Records for correct NSN and Condition Code. Experience ensuring commercial carrier delivering ammunition has been inspected in accordance with regulations and standing operating procedures. Experience verifying the quantity of containers for accuracy of nomenclature, stock and lot numbers against shipping documents and signs for shipments.
