Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Production Machinery Repairer without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common repair work on production machinery equipment, such as recognizing obvious defects in mechanical components of production equipment and machinery such as worn gears, bent or broken bolts. Based on general knowledge of mechanical parts and assemblies, remove and replace such parts using simple drawings and blueprints, clearly defined work processes, and ordinary hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc. Troubleshooting ??????PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Average weights handled are about 40 lbs. Hoists, dollies, and cranes are available for use with heavy objects. Considerable standing, stooping, crawling, and working in strained or awkward positions is required. Incumbent must have good coordination and balance in working around machinery while in operation. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts. ???????WORKING CONDITIONS: Most of the work is performed indoors. Uncomfortable conditions exist such as noise, dirt, grease, vibrations, poor ventilation, and unpleasant odors. Employee is subjected to explosive hazards while working on production equipment while explosive operations are in progress, subjected to the hazards of moving machinery, and exposed to the possibility to cuts, bruises, burns, and scrapes.
