The vacancy for this position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date. General Experience: GS-04: 1 year of General Experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, use of automated system(s); maintain personal files; and manage supplies. OR Education: Two years of education above the school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. Self-Certification for OA Positions: In addition to meetings experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of 40 words per minute typing speed proficiency. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472). Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Eastern Nevada Agency in Elko, Nevada. This position is to provide office automation work in support Roads Maintenance and Facility Management Programs.
