In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Providing technical leadership, project management, and/or engineering direction on formulation, design, development, test, evaluation and/or integration of aerospace systems; Leading multi-disciplined teams; collaborating with stakeholders and partners across organizational boundaries, building relationships and coalitions at all organizational levels; Managing change and providing technical advice on aerospace systems integration, testing, and resolving problems that impact operations (e.g., addressing critical timelines, technical risk, resource allocation, compatibility of systems and subsystems, and project performance). Serves as Deputy Manager for the Habitation Systems Development Office (HP40) within the Human Exploration Development & Operations Office (HP). Provides expertise to a diverse team of multi-discipline professionals developing habitat concepts in support of NASAs Moon to Mars programs. Collaborates across NASA, including the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate; builds strategic relationships with program managers, stakeholders, and partners, contributing to mission success.
