You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. OPM Qualifications Standards are available at Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: GS-12 (The next lower grade is GS-11): Specialized Experience includes: Experience in implementing records management rules, regulations, and guidance promulgated by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and OMB; Experience in conducting program-specific training for staff on records management, ensuring all records liaisons are trained in creating, maintaining, using, storing, and disposing of records in their area; Experience in planning and managing a Records Management program; and Experience in dispositioning records within M365 Records Management Compliance Center/Purview, utilizing SharePoint. GS-13 (The next lower grade is GS-12): Specialized Experience includes: Experience in overseeing records management rules, regulations, and guidance promulgated by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and OMB; Experience in creating, conducting, and coordinating records management training for managers and employees; Experience independently developing and using metrics, dashboards, audits, surveys, and reports to identify issues in a records management program; and Experience in overseeing the disposition of records within M365 Records Management Compliance Center/Purview, utilizing SharePoint. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Records and Information Compliance Program Office (RICPO) supports mandated USPTO records and information management programs through providing guidance to USPTO personnel on records and information management laws, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all federal records and information regulations and policies.
