You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, superior academic achievement, or a combination of experience and education to qualify. When using education to meet qualifications you must submit transcripts. Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods; principles, procedures, and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management; and developments in commercial retail food store items, equipment, and practices (specialized experience) equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Use hand-held terminals to gather data necessary to update and adjust inventory. Ensure optimal shelf space allocation for available stock. Order product. Maintain perpetual inventory. OR Education: Four full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with major study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of experience and education: Combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. Add the two percentages. Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Physical requirements: Prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing and walking; frequent lifting, pushing, carrying products weighting up to 40 lbs or over 40 lbs with assistance. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a non-temporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority. Serves as the Computer Assisted Ordering Technician in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to Maintain accurate perpetual inventory balance on hand (BOH) levels which in turn determines optimum ordering quantities and ensures product availability for patrons.
