To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience requirement, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. -AND- Specialized Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience must include: operating computers and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications, such as for timekeeping; operating office equipment such as copier, fax machine, shredder, calculator, etc.; organizing and managing paper and electronic files; organizing meetings and producing meeting minutes. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Clerical Communication Computer Skills Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. This position is responsible for a variety of administrative duties that support the Income Verification Division (IVD) at the Health Eligibility Center (HEC). The IVD is responsible for the financial responsibilities including travel, accounting, and budget plus the processing of incoming and outgoing mail, imaging of documents and reproduction of materials needed by HEC staff.
