For a brief video on creating a Federal resume, click here. The GS-11 salary range starts at $73,690.00 per year. The GS-12 salary range starts at $88,324.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify for the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service. OR PhD or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related OR a combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position. Specialized experience is performing budgetary duties and procedures which included program planning, analysis and administration of assigned budget activities. Such experience must have included assisting with the following: Applying budgeting and financial management processes, policies, procedures, and regulations to formulate, justify, and monitor budget activities. Analyzing and evaluating financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for budgetary actions. Preparing a variety of reports for management, such as status of funds, expenses, and obligations. To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is experience performing a wide range of budgetary duties which included responsibility for the formulation, presentation, and execution of an organization’s annual operating budget. Such experience must include the following: Applying budgeting and financial management processes, policies, procedures, and regulations to formulate, justify, and monitor budget activities. Analyzing and evaluating financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for budgetary actions. Conducting financial analysis of accounting treatments. Applying analytical and evaluative methods in order to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations or functions. Certifying the availability of funds, and ensuring proper financial controls are in place.
As a Budget Analyst, you will perform a specified portion or portions of the full range of budget analysis assignments, and related financial and program management functions. Location of position: GSA, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Kansas City MO, Fort Worth, TX, Washington DC, Philadelphia, PA and Denver, CO We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
